ActiveBacks patient Dr. Jo Rodda on the BBC

One of our longtime patients, Dr. Jo Rodda, an athlete and East London medical doctor, was told years ago that she’d never be able to run again due to an Achilles injury.

Dr. Rodda had numerous treatments for her heel pain but it wasn’t until she started seeing us here at ActiveBacks that she experienced positive results.

Smashing a World Record

We basically got Dr. Rodda up and able to run again using techniques at our London clinic. Dr. Rodda went on to bigger and better things each year, including participating in the grueling 300-mile continuous Enduroman Arch to Arc Challenge Triathlon. The punishing race included an 87-mile run from London’s Marble Arch to Dover; a 22-mile swim across the English Channel to Calais; and then a 180-mile bike from Calais to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

Not only did Dr. Rodda complete the race (only 27 people have) on September 30, 2014, but she set a new women’s world record. She became the third-fastest person ever to finish the challenge. Dr. Rodda was also able to raise a whopping £32,334.27 for MsTrust, a UK charity that is dedicated to “making life better for people living with multiple sclerosis.”
